Same- or next-day wine cooler visits across most of our area.
A wine cooler has one job: hold a steady temperature, quietly, day after day. When it starts drifting, the damage is slow and easy to miss — until you open a bottle that has gone flat. Switch Appliance Repair fixes built-in and freestanding wine coolers across Atlanta. Tell us what changed and we will find out why.
Call (470) 319-8098 or use the form on this page. Same- or next-day wine cooler visits are often available.
A broken appliance does not need to drag the whole house down with it. If the fridge is warming up, the washer is leaking, the dryer won't heat, or the oven quit before dinner, Switch Appliance Repair is ready to step in.
Get sharp diagnostics. Get your house back in rhythm.
Our service area depends on the appliance. Choose the appliance first, then enter your ZIP code.
Warm shelves, frost, leaks or a silent ice maker.
Freezers that thaw, frost up or run nonstop.
No ice, slow ice or a leak at the dispenser.
Wine coolers and beverage centers that run warm.
Gas and electric ovens that will not heat.
Burners, cooktops and ranges.
"It reads 55°F, but the bottles feel warm." A sensor may be off, or the display may be reading a different spot than where your bottles sit.
"The top zone is fine, the bottom is warm." Dual-zone units have separate sensors, fans and sometimes dampers or heaters for each zone. One failure can affect just one zone.
"There is frost on the back wall." The defrost is not working, the drain is blocked or humid air is slipping past the gasket.
"It never stops running." Dusty condenser, blocked front grille, failing fan or a cooling system that has lost refrigerant.
"It hums, clicks or rattles." A worn fan, a compressor start problem, a loose part or a cabinet that is not level.
"The glass door is fogging." Muggy weather can cause some fog. Heavy, constant condensation can point to a failed door heater or a gasket that no longer seals.
"The display is dark." A power supply, a control board or a wiring problem.
We service wine storage from Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador, Miele, Gaggenau, Liebherr, Fisher & Paykel, JennAir, Monogram, Dacor, Bertazzoni, Bosch, KitchenAid, GE Profile, GE, Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Electrolux. Brand names are used for identification only; Switch Appliance Repair is an independent wine cooler repair company with no affiliation with, or endorsement from, any of these manufacturers.
1. Start your repair request. The line is staffed 24/7; the form works too. Let us know the brand, the zones and what you are seeing.
2. We diagnose it. We place our own thermometer in each zone, test the sensors and the control board, check the evaporator and condenser fans, clean or inspect the front ventilation, test the compressor start parts or the thermoelectric module, and check the gasket and the drain.
3. You get a straight explanation. What failed and what the repair involves. Your call on what happens next.
4. We repair, test and wrap up. Genuine or OEM-approved parts, a test run of each zone and a final check of the seal. Parts and labor are covered for up to 6 months, or up to 12 months on Sub-Zero units.

Thermoelectric wine coolers have no compressor. A solid-state module moves heat from inside to outside, which makes them quiet, with almost no vibration. The trade-off is power: they can only cool so many degrees below the room around them. In a hot sunroom or a garage in an Atlanta summer, a thermoelectric unit may not reach its setting even though nothing is broken.
When we see that, we tell you — and suggest moving the cooler or choosing a compressor model — instead of replacing parts that work. When the module or its fans really have failed, we tell you whether repair is worth it for your unit.
Undercounter wine coolers are designed to breathe through the grille at the bottom front. If that grille is blocked by a rug, a decorative panel that was not designed for it, or a thick layer of dust, the cooler cannot shed heat. It runs longer, gets louder and still cannot hold temperature.
Freestanding coolers need space at the back and sides instead. Sliding a freestanding unit into a tight cabinet is one of the most common reasons we see for "broken" coolers that only need room to breathe.
A good wine cooler is not just a cold box. It protects bottles from the four things that age wine badly.
Steady temperature. Slow, small changes matter less than big daily swings. When a cooler cycles too far up and down, wine expands and contracts in the bottle and can push past the cork. A failing sensor or a weak fan often shows up first as wider swings.
The right humidity. Corks that dry out let in air. Many wine coolers keep humidity higher than a kitchen refrigerator, which is one reason a fridge is a poor long-term home for wine.
Darkness. Tinted or UV-resistant glass doors keep light from affecting the wine. A cracked or replaced door without that protection is worth noting.
Stillness. Constant vibration is not good for wine. Compressor coolers use mounts and quiet fans to keep it low; when those wear, vibration rises.
Our diagnosis looks at all four, not only the number on the display.
Wine coolers show up in more places than the kitchen: basement bars, home theaters, offices, small restaurants with residential-style equipment and tasting rooms. Each spot brings its own challenge — a tight cabinet, a warm room, a door that opens all evening.
Tell us where the cooler lives and how it is used. A unit opened fifty times a night needs a strong gasket and a healthy fan; a unit in a warm basement bar needs breathing room at the grille. We take the location into account when we diagnose, so the fix holds up where the cooler actually works.
A built-in wine cooler is part of your cabinetry, and replacing it means matching the opening, the door and the ventilation. Repair is almost always the better route. For a small, inexpensive freestanding unit with a failed compressor or a worn-out thermoelectric module, replacement may be the sharper choice. We give you the facts before you spend.
We serve Atlanta and nearby communities including Buckhead, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Virginia-Highland, Decatur, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Vinings, Smyrna, Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta and Johns Creek. Choose "Wine cooler" in the form and check your ZIP.
